FIFA Rules of Play will apply with the following exceptions:
DURATION OF GAME: All games will have 30 minute halves. The final will have full 45 minute halves. Semis and finals have two fifteen-minute extra periods if necessary, with Golden Goal in effect. Group play games may end in a tie.
TEAM ELIGIBILITY: All participating teams must be currently registered with their State Association. Managers must provide roster forms and current US Soccer player cards. Each team may have 25 players on the roster, but only 18 players may be suited out at any one game. Players are eligible to play ONLY ON ONE TEAM PER DIVISION during the course of the tournament. All rosters are frozen one week before the opening match.
FAILURE TO SHOW/FORFEIT GAMES: All teams scheduled to play must report to their assigned field at the assigned time ready to play or face forfeit. There will be NO GRACE PERIOD from scheduled kick-off time. In the event a referee is late, the Tournament Director or Field Commissioner shall decide on a referee, and his decision shall be final. Forfeits may occur when: 1) a team does not have at least nine(9) players on the field at start time and ready to play, 2) a referee abandons the game because of the actions of a team, or 3) a team abandons a game after it has been started.
PLAYER UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT: Appropriate attire is required. Shin guards are required.Goalkeepers must be distinguishable from team players. All jerseys must have permanent 8" numbers. Should there be a conflict in uniform colors; the HOMETEAM (the team listed first on the official tournament schedule) is responsible for changing. Please use good sportsmanship should the Visiting Team not have the required second strip. HOME TEAM provides the game ball.
REPORTING GAME RESULTS AND DISCIPLINE: Team Captains and referees will report the scores of the games to the score table. The Tournament Director has the authority to rule on any situation not covered herein. Each player receiving a red card will sit out the next game. Any player red carded for fighting will be ejected from tournament. See Point System with regards to the affects red cards will have.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: The Onion Creek Soccer Complex is located in a flood plain and the fields need to be used for play all year. AMSA is at the mercy of the Field Commissioner on weather decisions. In theevent of bad weather, the Tournament Director has the authority to make the following changes prior to the start of any game:a. Relocate and/or reschedule any game(s).b. Reduce by up to 50% of the scheduled duration of any game.c. Cancel any games in the group play rounds.Notices will be posted at www.austinmenssoccer.com or AMSA Rainout Line 512.404.2332.Once your Team Application has been accepted, no refunds will be given for any reason.
GROUP PLAY AND POINTS SYSTEM: All divisions will operate under the standard 10-point system:
- 6 – Win
- 3 – Draw
- 0 – Loss
- Additional one (1) point for every goal scored – Maximum 3 goals
- Additional one (1) point for a shutout
- Two (2) point deduction for Violent Conduct Red Card
- Forfeit games are scored as a 1 – 0 Win, 8 Points
- Tie Breakers – 1) Goal Difference, 2) Head to Head, 3) Penalty Kicks
